BOB NEWMAN
Caring for your parents and respecting our elders were part of our family’s tradition which I observed early in my life growing up in Indianapolis. My grandfather from Chicago moved to be close to us and was an early resident at Hooverwood, the Jewish community’s new assisted living facility, that had moved from the city. Visits to see him and picking him up to come visit us was a part of our regular routine.
That is why I was happy to serve on the Investment Committee of the Jewish Home Foundation when Larry Marks asked. Following a complete restructuring of the portfolio I was asked to chair the committee and join the Foundation board on which I’ve served for over 15 years.
I feel fortunate to be part of a dedicated team of volunteers and professionals serving an exceptional organization providing much needed services to the San Francisco community. It is a part of my volunteer activities with which I am honored to be associated.
